In a world of their own.

P.S. They are my nephew and nieces haha.

P.P.S. I freakin' love Matt Clayton's Photography right now! What's all I can say is just... wow... lol. So instead of songs for the day, you HAVE to check out his photoblog if you haven't already. He has such AMAZING photos over there.

David Archuleta performing "Crush" at Iluma.

Hello again. Just thought I'd share my another video of David's performance up here. I was late uploading it because it took me forever to find that cable to hook up the camera to my computer. Sorry if the video doesn't start from the beginning of the song. I was drawn in by his deeply moving performance of "A Thousand Miles" earlier that I forgot to start recording lol. I never knew so much emotion can be conveyed through such a simple yet beautiful song. Then again, everything pretty much sounds better live haha. Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you all. I'm going to head out here now, but I'll talk to you all later!

P.S. In other news, David is going to perform on AI8 results show this Thursday and I might be meeting the DASG people this week to collect my own DASG cd. So I'm pretty excited about those. I'll let you know how that goes again.

"Singapore has a CRUSH on DAVID ARCHULETA".

*edited 140409

Hey All! I hope everyone's having a fun time so far and this week has been such a blast for me. Last Saturday, a few of the DASG members and I got the chance to welcome DAVID ARCHULETA at the airport!! That was pretty crazy though. Sal sent me a pm on MSN as soon as I got home from work that he'd be reaching Singapore in an hour's time. It was like... LAST MINUTE! So we both had to cab down and rush to the airport. Oh! It was so rushed that I forgot to comb my hair after I got changed but whatever haha. It was funny 'cause we got to "promote" DASG to the cab driver who seemed clueless about who is David lol. So there at the airport, we met up with Larissa, Steven and Sheryl. Here's a video of us greeting David as he lands at Changi Airport at 1:15 in the morning. If you can spot me, I'm wearing yellow.

(Video credits to Team Archie International)

David Archuleta was wayyy cool in person than you'll ever see him in American Idol or youtube. We couldn't take photos with him but it's AWWEESSOME because he was just right in front of me!!

One of his fans, that I just knew of at the airport, requested to have a picture with him, and he replied, "You want to have a picture taken with me? I look really bad." haha.

Oh yeah. David actually mentioned this while he was still here in Singapore,
"I love the warm weather here. Everyone here is so friendly and nice and I want to thank the fans who came to the airport late at night to show me their support." - fansofdavid.com

I love meeting people who are really well known and stuff, and you expect them to act all big and important, when they are some of the most down-to-earth cool people you've ever met haha.

Then it was David's showcase and autograph session at Iluma, the new mall opening up at Bugis, on Tuesday! Ian and I reached the mall near 12 in the afternoon and there was already a queue for the autograph session outside. But there were several familiar faces, so that was really exciting. Some came as early as 9:30 in the morning after watching
David on Channel News Asia haha! The showcase would only start at 7pm but it was fun just hanging out with the rest of the fans before the show. We had many passer-bys who looked at us in amazement but we promoted David to them in case they didn't know who he is lol. I got to grab lunch too with some of the DASG members who were already there, and we ate lunch while queueing outside the mall haha!

Meanwhile, the other fans were doing cool stuff like making LAST MINUTE banners and writing last minute fan letters! What was so weird was that people around me talked to me about David although we didn't know each other and we could relate to each other pretty well. Crazy huh? he he. It's also AMAAAZZZING to know people who live like as far as India who were willing to travel here. Like Larissa, she's the no. 1 Singapore fan that I know of in person and she would willingly travel around the world just to see David. But anyway, Ian and I explored the mall a little bit more after lunch although we already did a few days before the show (if you have seen Ian's entry on our fansite) and we managed to snap a few close-up pictures of the stage and a HUGE poster of David. Cool stuff! We also helped with distributing the fans that Team Archie had made to the first 205 people who came.

More people joined the queue in the late afternoon and before we even knew it, the queue were already so LOOONGG!! It was almost unbelievable. DAVID ARCHULETA has sooo many fans in Singapore!! More guys were coming out too. But the fun part was when Sheryl and Farhana finally decided to show our huge DASG banner which was designed by Zaren (apparently my twin brother lol) to the crowd. Hazel then led the queue with two very strong cheers. I guessed we were soooo LOUD that people across the street could hear us. That was awesome!!

We were able to enter the atrium only around 5 in the evening. Those of us who there for the autograph session after the showcase since morning were pretty fortunate because the centre of the atrium were reserved for us. But oh my heck! There were incredibly so many people, the entire mall were filled from the 1st level to the last. David Archuleta should do a full concert here instead haha! While waiting, a number of his songs were played on repeat. Honestly I love all of them. Maybe I'm a little biased... but I'm pretty sure all of the songs were just amazing.

It was only around 7:30 when David really arrived on stage and I finally got to see him perform LIVE!! Of course I was loving it lol. I was at the 1st row beside Sahira, Wendy and Candy, and I had such a good time! David was amazing amazing amazing amazing, and he sounded so good live! I never thought I'd get the chance to see a successful AMERICAN IDOL runner up like him performed in front of me, and I always thought the Americans were lucky. David sang with so much soul and I was really happy that I got to see him even though it was just a small showcase. I admire the way David has gone with his music and career, and how humble of a person he is! He is just down to earth. He performed 4 songs, starting with the party starter "Touch My Hand", followed by "A Little Too Not Over You" (i'll put the video up for you guys later on), "A Thousand Miles" in which he played the keyboard, and ending with "Crush".

The crowd were momentarily insane and we sang the whole way through. It was full of energy!! Like I've said, when David Archuleta jumped on stage, I felt like jumping too among the crowd!

I didn't know what to say to him exactly during the autograph session but I did tell him that I was at the airport on Saturday and he went "Yeah!" with a lot of confidence and a big smile (he remembered me haha). Of course I didn't forget tell him that his performance was awesome and he initiated a hand shake with me. Cool! Oh! After the show, I got to talk to Boy Thunder from 91.3FM for a bit too. 91.3 ROCKS! Thanks for supporting David Archuleta!

Okay, that's enough talking about the show. Remember the DASG CD I talked about on my previous entry? That was the mini project DASG had and it's also considered as a country effort from Singapore to David. It really is so much fun working with all of them on that project. So anyway, we got to pass the CD to David personally during the private meet and greet session and showed him the the video of Let's Talk About Love we made. He was really touched by it as he got tears in his eyes when he watched it. Kinda weird I guess 'cause it was quite embarrassing when I first saw the entire video especially with me inside it but now I'm moved too. David was the first to clap after the video ended lol. Ah! I actually got the that video with me... but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to show that haha. But if you're clueless of what I'm actually talking about then you can read more about it

here. Ah! And we gave our Rainbow Club donation and our huge DASG banner (which was signed by all of us at the end of the day) to David too.

Before I go I wanted to share this with you guys really quick. Ever wonder how David Archuleta will look like in a malay traditional outfit? See it for yourself. So now I know what colour am I gonna pick for my own traditional outfit this year lol.

I know I talked a ton about David Archuleta, but I think that only makes it even more appropriate to share one of his songs today. So the song for today is You Can - David Archuleta.

Watchmen, DASG & Fish n Co'!

Heeeey guys! It's getting late here but I wanted to make sure I made a blog though before I got too busy with other stuff later this weekend. So I'm making it at the morning time right now. Just thought I'd share a few things that had gone on last week because it was a pretty GREEAAT week. So I'm going to try and be quick here.

I'm going to start with last week Monday where I had a day off, my first ever day off on a Monday! (not like having a Monday off is anything interesting haha) and I got to see
Watchmen at Downtown East E!hub again. The nearest Cathay Cineplex from home and I simply love Cathay for its comfort haha!! And a bunch of my friends were really into the show, and it's been getting much hype so I decided to go see it. Oh you know what's weird is that I somehow doubted the ticketing staff believed I was already over 18, especially since she determinedly reminded me that the show is rated M18 like an amazing four to FIVE times before and after she handed me the ticket. She even highligted the word "M18" on the ticket in yellow in front of me lol. Ah. I'd probably looked like some immature underaged kid who loves to cause trouble but haha... of course I was compelled to show my IC which has my good-looking face on it (coughs). No, no, just kidding! I'm tired. So anyway, I actually don't really like the show despite the cool superheroes and crazy visual effects. At more than 21/2 hours, it tries to cram in nearly everything and the ending feels rushed. But this blog might get insanely longer than I intend for them to be so I'm not going more into that lol.

Then last Saturday, I got to meet up with my hyper CRAAAZY DASG fanclub members to complete our project for David's upcoming promotional trip to Singapore in April (which was confirmed by Sony BMG)! We did a few recording with piano accompaniment and that was sooo cool! And it really wasn't easy to get everything right but we pushed it and once we got going I had so much fun! A lot of work went into it but it was awesome working with them. We jammed out to music, danced like idiots, and got some good exercise out of it haha. It was the energy everyone brought and even though I sweat so bad it was worth it. It started off with Sheryl's cool random idea haha and now we're working on editing it and getting everything together now, but I can't wait to see the finished product which I'm so pumped for.

So it's left with the t-shirts and banners! Oh. And some of us are involved in making a donation to a charity under David's name which is really nice. I always think about how those donations will help out, even if it's not a huge contribution. That small amount can help change someone's life one way or another. And here it is the T-shirt design by Steven.

"Let's talk about you. Let's talk about me. Let's talk about how we can be one big family..." haha. If you havent listened to this song yet, you should 'cause the lyrics are great.

Later on that evening, I got to hang out a bit with RJ "Alien" haha. And Farhan "Josh". I was a little bit hyper because I'm already dead tired heh. I think I would probably be more hyper if I wasn't. But it was uber fun hanging out with those two cool guys. Hilarious stupid and daft jokes lol. And oh my heck! I was supposed to meet them at 4 for a movie in town but I ended up meeting them like 8 haha. Sorry I know, I owe you guys one. We'll catch a movie some time soon, okay? Anyway, we had our dinner at the Glass House Fish n Co' and what's funny is that while we were eating, it suddenly struck my mind that the place doesn't accept NETS payment and I had not much cash with me. And so I ended up dragging RJ along to the nearest ATM which wasn't that near I supposed. We even entertained the thought of leaving Farhan behind to pay everything by himself haha. Are we awesome or what? Of course, we weren't so bad after all. That was really funny!! We had a good time.

Other thing that happened this week: I'm still reading James Patterson's Sundays at Tiffany's which I borrowed from Orange. It takes me so long but I'm almost finishing haha. And the other book I really want to read is Jon & Kate Gosselin's Multiple Blessings. Since I'm so hooked to their high-rated reality tv show on Discovery Travel & Living called
Jon & Kate plus 8 - following their daily lives and focusing on the challenges of raising their eight children — a set of fraternal twin girls and a set of sextuplets. It's so cool seeing them handling all 8 small kids and each having totally different characters haha.

But anyway, I'm talking more than I wanted. So I better get going here. Talk to you guys later!

Song for the day:
This I Promise You - N Sync.

Horse-riding, thunderstorm and more movies all in 2 days!

Heeey Eerrrrbody. It's me yet again. So last weekend was pretty exciting! I finally went to the Gallop Stable on Saturday, and that was way coool! I got the chance to try horse-riding for a bit, and oh my heck! It roooocks! It was my first time so I was pumped for that. I have a couple of pictures that I'll put up. I was a little nervous at first heh, just because I wasn't sure how the horse would react towards me, but it's not even scary when you get onto it. Ah. I must have been a little weird-looking with the helmet on, but that's ok because it was totally worth it haha. I can't really explain how it was because it was... just a really different experience. I talked to the handler who took me for the trail ride too and asked him a few things. And the next thing I know was we ended up chatting a whole lot like old friends do lol. And he told me, the horse I rode is the most obedient of them all but the horse that was used for the person before me is a little odd. Apparently, it's easily frightened by noises and it can suddenly jump upon hearing someone's talking very loudly. Then the handler even went on to complain about his job and his manager haha. It's funny, you never know how people are going to be when you meet them. But it was really neat to know how really friendly he was lol. In that way, I wouldn't felt so awkward, you know?

Oh and there was a very, verryy big thunderstorm right after that. So the trail-riding activity had to stop. And the scariest part was that the entire place is so freakishly open and the only shelter everyone had was the cafe. But even the middle of the cafe is open air sitting. There were a number of times when we could literally see the aggressive lightning struck near the cafe. It was sooo much dangerous but still, there was this caucasian family who allowed their kids to run around. There was one part when the lightning became more intense and much closer and it exploded right in the middle of the cafe. It was dang loud that all the small kids started to cry. But it was probably one of the scariest things I have ever experienced. The weirdest thing was they left the horses out in the big storm! Oh well, I can just go on about the rain, but I just don't want to go on not making much sense. Man, there're so much to talk about! But even though I didn't get to spend a whole lot of time down there at the stable, it was still really nice. Fun stuff... It was soooo much fun just horse-riding so I've really enjoyed my little time there. I want to go back soon haha! I'm just hoping it's not gonna be thunderstorm again next time.

So another thing I got to do later that day was to watch Push at the new E!Hub at Downtown East. Me and my family contemplated on watching either Watchmen or Push at first but most of them picked Push. I say the movie's fine. It's not a great movie to many others but I have an open mind to the possibilities of unrealistic movies haha. But that wasn't the only one we watched that weekend. On Sunday, all of us snuggled at my sister's house and I know it's a pretty strange choice to watch the new Street Fighter movie. But to enjoy these types of video game adaptation movies you have to lower your expectations. Looking like Chun Li or not I still think Kristin Kreuk is awesome.... and she got to speak a little bit of Mandarin in this which was cute lol.

Oh! I'll just mention one more thing before I go. This is going to sound random but that day, we also tried this new snack recipe which my mum remembered from one of the tv shows last few weeks. It's toasted bread with peanut butter, lightly coated with egg and fried. You can use jam or even nutella. It was soo addictive heh!

Well anyway, I better head out now but I'll talk to you guys later and let you know how things went this week! Probably how the DASG meetup goes to! Hasta luego.

Song of the week: Apart from David Archuleta's Barriers ("here we are lying here, it's our last final goodnight. just because it feels so good, no use pretending we're alright". I just have to sing that hah. So sorry for having David again so soon but this song is stucked in my head right now!), I'm going to add Michael Jackson's You Are Not Alone. Gotta love that song. Michael Jackson's an amazing performer and I'm glad that American Idol chose yesternight to be his week. Danny Gokey was amazing too with P.Y.T!

Birthdays, chalet and movie!

Hola. It's me here with another blog. There're so many things goin' on last week, so much to talk about but I don't want to make this a novel! so I'm going to try and summarize them haha. Last Tuesday was way exciting because I got to go out early before work to buy some stuff for Elizabeth and Farhan's birthday with my colleague, Ayu. We were sharing them together with Lindy and Orange. And the fun part was when we came to know that this cool shop we were intending to go at first wasn't opened at that time. So there and then, we were trying to figure out really quick what other good things we could buy for them. Actually we had a few really random ideas but they were pretty lame, so I'm not gonna mention them here but it was funny though. And I still think the craziest thing was that we always wanted to buy things for ourselves instead lol. After walking around, we managed to get Elizabeth a really cool stuff from Body Shop and a Clinique Happy cologne spray for Farhan. I've always liked that spray 'cause it has this really refreshing scent. Well, it wasn't that difficult to get something for a guy after all, right Ayu? lol. But Elizabeth, being really appreciative, bought for us Subway cookies to share. So that was a surprise to us cause we weren't expecting it at all. I thought it was uber cool and nice of her to do that! But anyway, I was just hoping they liked what we gave.

Last Wednesday was another extremely fun day, because I got to go to my friend's chalet at Downtown East. I was already a little sick at work before that but still I tried to go since it had been the longest time since I last went to Downtown. It was weird though 'cause the chalet was held on weekdays and not throughout the normal weekends but I had sooo much fun there. We had dodgeball for a while, a few card games and then the most craziest loudest part was the musical chairs we played! We're dorks, dang it haha. But even though I sweat so bad it was worth it. So fun stuff. And after that, I kept falling asleep lol. I was so tired. Ahh, that was when my migraine got a little worst! But I was lucky 'cause two days after which were my day offs.

Then on Friday, I got to go out with my mum and niece to watch The Outlander. I was pumped at first as it was always cool to go to the movies with my family and have a fun time doing something together. But I totally forgot that the movie was rated NC-16 and so my niece couldn't watch it. Usually the ticketing staff or whatever you call them don't bother so much but it was just that day she wasn't allowed. So me and my mum decided to watch it at night after her mum took her home after her work. And so while waiting, we hanged out at Swensens where we had something for lunch and took a lot of crazy random pictures. I shall post some up here but only some cause the rest were really crazy ones.

So back to the movie, I thought it was gonna be another great Viking Sci-Fi film since it was from the same producer as Lord of The Rings. The plot was alright and at times entertaining but it was one of the most predictable movies I've seen. I'm gonna say I quite dislike the ending.

Oh. Check out the picture below, just thought I'd share with you guys. They're actually cream puffs that my sister bought for us last Thursday. It's getting more innovative than the doughnuts we have in a lot of stores here, isn't it haha?

And before I go I just wanted to post this video taken from David Archuleta's first live concert at Virginia Beach. The song's called Zero Gravity. David is amazing amazing amazing amazing, and he sounds so GOOD live! So instead of a song for the day I think you should check him out haha! ("When things get messed up, you bring my head up, I get lost in the clouds"... I just had to sing that haha)

Zero Gravity

P.S. I'm so glad to hear that he might be coming here on April 7th! Looking forward to that. THUMBS UP for DASG for what you gonna do for him! Like the idea haha.

Well that's it for now. I've written quite a bit in this one. Sorry I can't ever make these short but I'm done now. I better get going here. So I'll talk to you guys later. Peace.

15.2.09

Last week:

Hey guys! It's me again and I realized I haven't had the time to make a new blog lately but... now I have haha! It's actually kinda hard to keep track of all that happened but I've always been doin' good in keepin' up with the posts right? Today, I just wanted to make a quick update on a few things that went on last week.

And so last week was my mobilization week and last Saturday was actually my first ever time being called up. I didn't think I'd be activated at first just because I wasn't during the previous mobs I had so far haha. But a friend told me two days earlier that an officer had requested him to be a part of the special support group thing and then... someone from Mindef had called a day before just to inform me that there might be a possibility of me being activated. So I just knew that it would be for real. And I was lucky enough as I had a day off on that Saturday. But I was bummed though because I wasn't able to go out on my day off haha. And it just so happened that my brother and mum decided to go out... like last minute... to shop at the Nike warehouse sale that went on at the Singapore Expo that weekend.

But this whole mobilization thing turned out to be fun. And I was only needed to reach camp within 8 hours which was a pretty long time. So before that me and my campmates were checking out with each other on what was the most "perfect" time for us to come out from home so that we could reach camp about the same time haha. But that day it really felt like I haven't wore my uniform for the longest time and there was this wedding goin' on at the void deck. So a few people happened to see me in that which was pretty embarassing. I took some pictures, but they're really lame.... so... I'm not putting 'em up haha. When I reached camp, I ran into a bunch of my friends. It was really neat to see some the old gang. And we had to pass through quite a number of counters where we had to identify ourselves with our ICs and gave our signatures. Somehow it just felt like I was travelling on CTE and I had to pay before passing any gantries haha. And after all that, what we had to do was just to unpack the things in our field pack for the officers to check and that was it, we could go home already and the entire process took me only 20 minutes! Dang it! Oh you know what's funny is when we were unpacking our things, an officer asked us if we were done and I could even said to him that I have not because I was still struggling to get some things out of my bag and then one of my friend told him that he had forgotten to bring his slippers and shoes along. But the officer said it was alright and he walked away. Sooo cool and last time all we had was only 1 minute to unpack and 1 minute to pack all the things back. And I wonder why were we sweating so bad when we could take our own time to do all that heh. Anyway, I could go on forever about that in a disorganized manner but then this would be 3 times longer and make even less sense than it already does.

So that was pretty crazy and wayyy fun but it was still really early, so I decided to cab home, got change and then joined my brother and mum. I guess those guys at the void deck who had seen me earlier might have been wondering when they saw me again and it was not even an hour passed lol. Even my brother was surprised when I gave him a call. I was a little late though cause my brother and mum were already on their way to Parkway but they said the sale was lacking of variety and they had to line up just to enter the area which kinda reminded me of the gantry I talked about earlier haha. But yeah, I'll stop talking about that. Anyway, it wasn't that bad I guess they got a few stuff like the windbreaker, sport shorts and shoes. I got myself a bit of stuff at Parkway and then we ate at Fish and Co for dinner. And so, I had a great time with that.

I realized I ate out a lot with my family last week and shopped a lot too haha. Last Sunday, I met my sister to eat at Spize again after work. And I just couldn't believe that I was the first to go off from work that day haha. Ahh, pretty surprising. And last Wednesday, I shopped for a bit again with mum and I bought a couple of bracelets/wrist bands whatever you guys call them. As some of you might have already known, I have lots of 'em at home haha. I got one from Pull and Bear recently and I really like it. Cool stuff.

All right, so before I close here, I wanted to talk just a little bit about the American Idol! So they already chose their top 36. I was at work when they showed this on tv so I wasn't able to watch it. But I had friends that were keeping me updated on what was going on haha. I was so excited to hear Danny Gokey got in. He has this soulful vibe and husky voice, and he sounds so good live! But sadly his wife passed away just four weeks before his first audition. Who do you guys root for? If you guys don't mind sharing yours feel free to! I think it's fun to know about those kinds of things. But yeah I wrote an awfully lot in this blog. So I better head out now. I'll talk to you guys later. Bye bye.

Song for the day: I Hope You Dance - Lee Ann Womack
Danny sang this song for his final audition during the Hollywood week too. I think this song rocks. The lyrics. The music. Everything 'bout it. I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean, whenever one door closes I hope one more opens. Check that out haha.

31.1.09

Thank you for the music.

Hi all! It's me again, and I'm just checkin' in with you guys here... eating sundae... haha. I really hope this isn't too late but I've been way busy this week to sit down and do my own little things. Like thanking everyone for incredibly thoughtful things you've been saying wishing me happy birthday! haha. I got a day off today so I thought it would be appropriate to do a quick entry since I haven't done one for a while. I just had my birthday last week, so now I'm officially 25. Thanks sooo much for the emails and sms-es that you guys have sent! It was way cool to know people do actually remember!!

And for the presents too. Gotta love every single one of them. But the one that had me gushing for a good five minutes was Tabi and Orange's tin container, which was way cool and creative! It's a white and orange tin that had a yellow bookmark clip outside of it and inside it contained many random small things... all in YELLOW! (and that happens to be my favorite color). Some of them were notebook and stationeries, a lemonade can drink which I haven't seen here before, lemon-flavored Fisherman's Friend, and a Toblerone bar which, as you guys know, comes in yellow packaging haha. But still the funniest, most unique thing was the yellow packet of tissue paper! And it took me a while to realise that everything was actually in YELLOW until I saw my own yellow room walls lol.

Another thing I wanted to mention real quick is that I got to celebrate for a bit with my family last weekend. We also celebrated my younger brother's birthday because his birthday's in Jan too. Pretty awesome day, we went out and I bought a cool white and blue Levi Strauss cap for my brother which, I think, is really really nice! And then my sister bought for me a Levi's tee shirt, which happened to be YELLOW lol. Oh! and those weren't the only yellow things I received for my birthday! Last friday, my mum bought me a new Logitech laser mouse since my desktop mouse got a little bit cranky lately and it's YELLOW too haha. And now looking back on it.. wow it's so weird.. but this was actually the very first time I got sooo many things in yellow for my birthday. But yeah, I'll stop talking about that.

Anyway back to my weekend, we then had Bali Thai for lunch. I've always loved the ambience which was uber nice and it had been quite some time since we went there. So we had a great time with that. I took a few pictures, so I'll try to load some up. And we bought DVDs too and one of them was No Reservations. I think it's such a cool movie.

And lastly, thanks again for all the things you guys have done for me! And hope everyone has a great time this weekend!! Sorry I can't ever make these short but I'm done. So I'll go now. I should prolly get going here. But I'll talk to you guys later.

P.S. To a few of my friends out there, you know who you are. I'm so sorry I won't be able to make it next Saturday. You guys go ahead and have fun!

Song for the day: Josh Groban - When You Say You Love Me (...when you say you love me, the world goes still, so still inside. sorry i'm singing as i'm typing this haha). Awesome song amazing vocal. So check it out if you have not 'cause it's a really good song.
