Last week:

Hey guys! It's me again and I realized I haven't had the time to make a new blog lately but... now I have haha! It's actually kinda hard to keep track of all that happened but I've always been doin' good in keepin' up with the posts right? Today, I just wanted to make a quick update on a few things that went on last week.

And so last week was my mobilization week and last Saturday was actually my first ever time being called up. I didn't think I'd be activated at first just because I wasn't during the previous mobs I had so far haha. But a friend told me two days earlier that an officer had requested him to be a part of the special support group thing and then... someone from Mindef had called a day before just to inform me that there might be a possibility of me being activated. So I just knew that it would be for real. And I was lucky enough as I had a day off on that Saturday. But I was bummed though because I wasn't able to go out on my day off haha. And it just so happened that my brother and mum decided to go out... like last minute... to shop at the Nike warehouse sale that went on at the Singapore Expo that weekend.

But this whole mobilization thing turned out to be fun. And I was only needed to reach camp within 8 hours which was a pretty long time. So before that me and my campmates were checking out with each other on what was the most "perfect" time for us to come out from home so that we could reach camp about the same time haha. But that day it really felt like I haven't wore my uniform for the longest time and there was this wedding goin' on at the void deck. So a few people happened to see me in that which was pretty embarassing. I took some pictures, but they're really lame.... so... I'm not putting 'em up haha. When I reached camp, I ran into a bunch of my friends. It was really neat to see some the old gang. And we had to pass through quite a number of counters where we had to identify ourselves with our ICs and gave our signatures. Somehow it just felt like I was travelling on CTE and I had to pay before passing any gantries haha. And after all that, what we had to do was just to unpack the things in our field pack for the officers to check and that was it, we could go home already and the entire process took me only 20 minutes! Dang it! Oh you know what's funny is when we were unpacking our things, an officer asked us if we were done and I could even said to him that I have not because I was still struggling to get some things out of my bag and then one of my friend told him that he had forgotten to bring his slippers and shoes along. But the officer said it was alright and he walked away. Sooo cool and last time all we had was only 1 minute to unpack and 1 minute to pack all the things back. And I wonder why were we sweating so bad when we could take our own time to do all that heh. Anyway, I could go on forever about that in a disorganized manner but then this would be 3 times longer and make even less sense than it already does.

So that was pretty crazy and wayyy fun but it was still really early, so I decided to cab home, got change and then joined my brother and mum. I guess those guys at the void deck who had seen me earlier might have been wondering when they saw me again and it was not even an hour passed lol. Even my brother was surprised when I gave him a call. I was a little late though cause my brother and mum were already on their way to Parkway but they said the sale was lacking of variety and they had to line up just to enter the area which kinda reminded me of the gantry I talked about earlier haha. But yeah, I'll stop talking about that. Anyway, it wasn't that bad I guess they got a few stuff like the windbreaker, sport shorts and shoes. I got myself a bit of stuff at Parkway and then we ate at Fish and Co for dinner. And so, I had a great time with that.

I realized I ate out a lot with my family last week and shopped a lot too haha. Last Sunday, I met my sister to eat at Spize again after work. And I just couldn't believe that I was the first to go off from work that day haha. Ahh, pretty surprising. And last Wednesday, I shopped for a bit again with mum and I bought a couple of bracelets/wrist bands whatever you guys call them. As some of you might have already known, I have lots of 'em at home haha. I got one from Pull and Bear recently and I really like it. Cool stuff.

All right, so before I close here, I wanted to talk just a little bit about the American Idol! So they already chose their top 36. I was at work when they showed this on tv so I wasn't able to watch it. But I had friends that were keeping me updated on what was going on haha. I was so excited to hear Danny Gokey got in. He has this soulful vibe and husky voice, and he sounds so good live! But sadly his wife passed away just four weeks before his first audition. Who do you guys root for? If you guys don't mind sharing yours feel free to! I think it's fun to know about those kinds of things. But yeah I wrote an awfully lot in this blog. So I better head out now. I'll talk to you guys later. Bye bye.

Song for the day: I Hope You Dance - Lee Ann Womack
Danny sang this song for his final audition during the Hollywood week too. I think this song rocks. The lyrics. The music. Everything 'bout it. I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean, whenever one door closes I hope one more opens. Check that out haha.

Life is odd.

Certain emotions emanate, yet I can't let my honesty out. It's seemingly beyond words, I'm helpless. Something refrains me. Comparably, I try to keyboard something down but I can never phrase myself. I look back at myself thereafter, again the word why drifts across my mind. I deem to search my usual-self. I reckon I need time. Slowly, I will recover then.

Anyhow, I was on-board the bus the other day to MPH, and I recalled one student (plausibly from the NPCC; she had NPCC tees on) greeting the other somewhat like "Good morning, Sergeant!". So the other could be her senior. What-so-ever, the NPCC sergeant didn't return her greetings, not even a hello or hi. Ungratified. Even your real Warrant Officer in your real NS life greeted as low as a Recruit. -Why do I friggin care?- Life!

Life is odd. Reality! People can be so insensitive. In other words, they can blabber anything and end up offending others. How I ever wish I am so numb with 'everything'. Nevertheless, I am only human. Save me. Till then, I refuse to falter. I will rise steadily, standing out of 'their' reach.

Next, what recall manning? I just ended this army chore not too long ago. Alright, merely two months or so. I thought I would be free from any sort of mobilisation this year; however it has been scheduled this tuesday up to 19th. Tim told me my batch may not be affected. That goes with those who just ord-ed last November. December? Hopefully. I don't know about our forthcoming HQ meet-up (part IV) on the 17th currently. Tim's on duty.

After all, I've already checked out Vivo City last Friday after work with Joseph and Ken. Finally! It was jam-packed and BIG. Supposedly, we were to meet-up with KY, Yan Ning, Ngok Fung and Yong Loong (he couldn't come at the eleventh hour) for dinner and then Deja Vu but oh boy, the tickets were selling so fast, we were only left with the first and second row from the screen. Thinking of Saw 3 (or Happy Feet, I havent watch!) then. The sad part - we eventually settled for Deja Vu still, but it was at PS. Dude, we missed the GV Max. Never mind another time aight. Well at least, I got to walk Vivo City even though its for a short while and another latest movie!! So my wish on my previous entry fulfilled. -Ha- Deja Vu isn't really up to expectations I had from the ad trailers. Moderately ok-lah. But it has occasional good jokes. I've yet to catch The Holiday and Eragon! And of course Death Note II. We went Pizza Hut for dinner. Been some time since I went there.

And Friday, finally Apc's December batch friends ord-ed! ORD LOH!

Oh yup, I missed the season finale of Ghost Whisperer. I'm hooked to the tv drama besides CSI on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I didn't get anyone to record it down. I guess I'll just hear from my mum. She's into it too! Meanwhile, Hikmah's final episode tomorrow. Though it was played on Malaysian TV before -Ha- It's rated first on Suria's top 10 shows. Anyhow, I think Rashid Sibir's Dalam Hati Ada Cinta II's better than Cinta Q. Whatever it is, I'm hooked to a lot of tv shows currently! Thanks to my family!

Probably another tv show before sleep. Take care aight!

(I haven't received the photos of our previous SP clique get-together. Have to wait. We'll get-together again soon!)

Post-ord!

Well let me see... The last post was like last month. Duh... I was too busy nowadays to even start blogging. Oh yup some post-ord activities... I've gotten two students for tuition now. Yup crazy me! I don't even know myself how to even cope with it... still surviving. Ha... and I'm still waiting for SIM to reply me. I'll just pray hard for now that I will hopefully get in the course I'd applied for. Sigh, actually I was accepted by PSB earlier for their next year's intake and had to reply them by like that day I ord-ed. And that was October 19th last month. Wad a decision to make - PSB or SIM? One already accepted me and the other I still have to wait for the reply. Well ya I guess the date due for my reply to PSB had already passed now, and I still haven't gotten any reply from SIM... I know I just have to wait and God will be there to help me. I miss my first opportunity and sigh... I have yet to think of a plan B but this Nov month... hopefully. I'll pray hard yup...

Apparently I've sent my resume to a number of companies for a part time job which I hope I can stay on even when I have started my school next year and attended a few interviews here and there. Ha... that reminds me. I had a chat earlier on with one of my campmates about temporary office jobs. If I hopefully get into SIM full-time course which start like this January and I wanna stay on that particular job even when I start my school later on, I guess I can't possibly be doing a temp admin or office-kinda job now yep. Hmm.... I dunno but lately I have tried a part time retail assistant job at one of the Nike outlets. I'll pray hard...

And another outing with my hq campmates hopefully this month. Seeing our hectic schedule, it's quite tough to organise one with some people already ord-ed, some ord-ing soon and one ord-ing next year... *The term "head - ache" floats in my mind now* But yup... hopefully can! When there's a will, there's a way. The previous meet-up with my hq mates was on my ord day and now one of them has ord-ed after me and soon will be everyone.

*Ay, you can check out more of our previous meet-up photos on my flickr!

Time is flying by like nobody's business. It's like I have seriously no track of what day or time it is right now. I kinda miss camp... ay it's that feeling you have after you orde-ed. It's funny how when you are just really having such a good time that you forget that this moment, this very moment, you are actually living in it. You know it's something like when you are in the future right now and you look back at this time and you say to yourself, " Man how I wish I could go back there again." So my hq mates - Another dine out. I'll pray hard... it's gonna be cool.

Hmm... "Ord day". I kept it cool... displaying of pink IC is so common yup. Whatever for?! Ha... but it would be nice if I could meet up a lot more of my campmates before I really stepped out of camp. It was all but empty in apc, almost all the seniors were not in camp. That was sad for me, wad to do, but ya I've got a few juniors to talk to for my last time in camp. Chatted about how I took them for orientation drill lessons, how I made them run rounds and rounds around the parade square (Am I that bad? Ha... really sorry guys that was only during O.D. ya) and then we were one contingent for SAF Day. Haha talked for a few hours, I almost forgot I had to rush home before meeting my hq mates for dinner at suntec then.

That's all for now I supposed yup. So tired. Till the next one aight... Peace be upon you...

ATM complication.

It was wad I called absolute bad luck or wadever you wanna describe it as, but it all started with Mr Whatever and that stupid ATM!!

Had to transfer a few dollars to someone today evening.

And the worst part, the queue is only God-knows-how-long! (usually it'll be one or two person in front of you) Apparently, the other machine is "miles" away (although it isn't), I simply couldn't walk myself there. I'm so lazy nowadays. Really.

So screw the waiting time. But I just don't get these people (you can blame me for being so not understanding). Why on earth they need like "hours" just to withdraw/transfer cash or do any kinda transactions with the machine?! Oh wait. Maybe, Singaporeans have gone thru a sudden major change (which I myself never know of) ever since God knows when and become pretty laid-back like the Australians (you know Singaporeans are always rushing for time, just take a lil' closer look at any MRT stations, preferably nearest to you, during the peak hours). Either that, or they were actually taking the-precious-time just to happily figure out how to use that so "complicated" machine, which I really doubt. So much so they need some step-by-step manuals on how to physically operate the machine, to be sent to their individual mailboxes. But then again, the options provided on the ATM screen are so darn clear, are they not, that you can just follow. Wadever =p

But I've waited almost "patiently" till it was Mr Whatever's turn (he's right in front of me, his friend beside him). This was more worst than I thought. I dunno why but Mr Whatever ejected his card soon after that, took his card out, looked at his friend, laughed irritatingly and murmured something like "Oh, wrong!", his friend gave a big grin, then he inserted the card again. That was fine yup. Probably he has keyed-in his password wrongly. But soon after that, he ejected his card again, looked at his friend, almost like starring, laughed and said something (it was loud enuff for me to hear it this time) like "What am I doing...", his friend laughed hysterically at him, inserted his card again and now for the third attempt. For all you know, I'm going to just walk over and ask Mr Whatever why the hell is that but I didn't. God. Maybe, it is not only humans, the ATM's got "sick" too because of the very bad haze condition. Just kiddin. I just showered and now I'm like perspiring badly cos more and more people joined the queue. And boy, was I surprised. Mr Whatever took out his card again, looked at his friend, laughed loudly, and walked off. You gotta be kidding me!

I was like WTF, can you at least tell me wad's wrong with the ATM, or what is actually happening?! Cos I was totally clueless. Wadever it was, I was glad after all these waiting and anticipating, it was finally my turn.

The screen displayed "The ATM is out of service temporarily, please come again later" at first (I'm goin crazy) but luckily it turned back as per normal after a few seconds. The bad-luck part was my card got rejected each and every time I inserted it in and the screen would show me "Sorry your card is faulty..." Arrrrggghhh!! Now that was no joke. Somehow I believed it was due to Mr Whatever's card cos I just withdrew my cash successfully yesterday. His card might be the faulty one, it could be like an infectious disease that was passed on to mine. Man that made me walked the miles to the other ATM and for all you know, my card was perfectly alright. I was panicked for that one moment considering it was urgent for me to do the money transfer. Totally spoilt my day.

Friday, the 13th = Bad luck?

Oh wow I can now write a super long essay all about "A Bad Day With The ATM" =p So much of that!

That day a few of my campmates (ord-ing in Dec) mentioned to me that they have no choice but to perform the December's COG. A few hours before my other campmate (ord-ing 3rd Nov) told me they have to fulfill another 72 men GOH this coming 1st November before they can even dekit their parade attires.Total madness, and this is crazy. The lack of manpower has been like this ever since I came in (it's worst now), it's forever!! Maybe I should really remind our dear boss another one last time this thursday before I make my permanent leave. Cos his forgetfulness and poor memory just couldn't be cured anymore.

"Dear Mr. xxx, I'm gonna make my permanent leave out of camp, in fact, almost everyone will be leaving you at the end of this year. I dunno exactly if I have to be sad for you. But yup, you should consider this matter seriously in the future other than your own lifestyle programmes, etc. And do I need to scribble this on a piece of paper and paste it on the top right hand corner of your computer screen as a reminder?"

My oh my I truly wonder how the future COGs will be like. And that will be totally so exhilarating...

Till the next one aight. Goodnite.

I can hardly wait.

[audio; can't take my eyes off you - frankie vallie]

PINK IC in SEVEN days time! Joseph said something about uniform and hair inspection this afternoon... (in my mind) I was like, OMG, wad inspection, I almost forgot, or no... did I friggin forget all about Inspection Before Parade!?

Slowly but surely adapting to the non-military side of me, I guess!!
(Or have I adapted?=p)

Haha. Yup.

Everything's cleared in camp, only memories left behind...

Many GOOD ones and many BAD ones. Of cos the good ones I will cherish for a life time and the bad ones are something I expect to get lost in a crowd of my other memories but again they are to teach me from my mistakes, lessons I've learnt in life ;]

Yes I can hardly wait...!

7.10.06

Just life.

[audio; 100 years - five for fighting]

Met up with
Dan at Bugis today. And boy was I surprised. Cos this was like the first time we were stucked at Kinokuniya for frigging an hour, or veritably much much longer than that! Flipped thru magazines, A LOT including the jap ones, laughing at almost everything said, and even learning (trying super hard) some random jap sentences thru the english-jap dictionary. And DAMN... for all I know I almost forgot my break-fast timing. Thank god my sis called me! Errr, managed to get a sip of water from the tap =p

And yup we were off to
Arab Street then in search of some, the-not-so-common, local food for dinner. Speaking of food, I've been eating a lot and I knew I'm gonna have to pay for all this one day. Till I went for my recent FFIs and put me on the weighing scale and... 69kg! Faint. Ey, it's always good to have the fasting month. Now my gameplan is to lose some of it, been running and swimming lately. Haha hopefully I will stay diligent with this. So coming back to Arab Street, Dan told me of this one egyptian restaurant there but had no idea where. Meanwhile I was hoping to find this place called 'Haji Lane'. Cos I heard my other friends talking about it and I thought there might be nice food. And yeap I didn't mind exploring either. Walked around, I realised there were so much more people today than any other day. Usually, it'll be like somewhat quiet over there especially the night time. Then I remembered the new Hari Raya Carnival going on yup (Previously this has always been at Geylang area but shifted to Bugis this year). So that kinda explained why. Ended up at this egyptian restaurant called 'Altazzaq' and for all you know it's at Haji Lane! So it was like a 'win-win' thing. Dan found his egyptian rest'n and I found my Haji Lane - So. Lucky. But I recalled walking there before but didnt know it was Haji Lane all along. Haha ignorance! The shish kebab was great and the other I cant remember the name but overall good food and price (it's priced between a food court and a regular restaurant), only the getting-the-bill part was rather slow. Oh ya, mind me... this was my first time seeing the Shisha Pipes (fruit tobacco you smoke thru a water pipe) for real, and not on photos! Haha....

It was down to
Clarke Quay after that. Been a while since I went there. Walked all the way from Bugis (used to just take bus or mrt! Thanks dan!) to check out the Eski Bar there. Sigh the HAZE was enough to kill. I was almost choking. That was bad. Oh yeah, Singapore is really small, met my campmate Kaijun with a few of his friends at Boat Quay. OMG it took like forever just to walk from boat quay to clarke quay. And... man we walked in circles and almost touring the whole place - Boat Quay to Clarke Quay then Clarke Quay to Boat Quay again before realising the Eski Bar was right at Boat Quay itself. Haha. But halfway the journey, I met Keetong, my hq mate, with his girlfriend. Now it is really a small world. Had a quick chat before getting chilled for a short while at Eski Bar. The whole day was like an expedition in search of places and great food. Kinda tiring yet fun.

I miss the good old school days. I really just wanna go Uni and study and play now. I'm so freaking envious of my girl friends and the post NSF guys that have already started school... (lets put aside the strrreeesss part) Haha. God am I so relieved there is now junior to take over my admin spec position. There are so much things to do, so little time, your never ending admin work, your parades and rehearsals, your istana duties. I had to figure out all myself. That took me a while to get used to and it's not that easy mind you. There were a lot of things I've gone thru and whenever I was down in camp, I would just prefer to take it all in and wish everything will be all fine again the next day. Hmm it's just that... of all things you would expect the people close to you to actually understand you, what you are going through. But somehow there will be people who turn their backs on you. It's funny how friends can just turn on you in a split second for no valid reason. It gets you down. Well it's alrite if they won't understand me. After all, they don't really know what I'm going through back then do they? So I guess it's ok. I can't afford to go down in flames just because of stuff like this. I really appreciate my camp friends who would be there to back me up whenever I needed it. And no worries, I'm just trying to be strong.

But again I sure do miss camp (even though a lot of ppl said they wanna get the hell outta that place =p) Woohoo I'm done with my dekitting. I need to hunt for a few more signatures on my clearance form and boy... also bring the heavy stuff back home. That should be all.

So tired. Gotta go sleep now. Good night good people. Haha... Bye...

2.10.06

There outside.

[audio; semi-charmed life - third eye blind]

Finally I'm blogging again. Wow this week seemed to pass relatively fast. Come to think of it nothing much happened this week. But I must say I still did have fun. And hey, I just received an sms from CSM. It's already 2+ am and he hasn't even sleep too! Neway I shan't go into deep detail of his sms. Well well but I guess it was unlike him to send a bit of a touching one. Ha... 4 guys in my batch just ord-ed like last thursday (it's left with me and Jarrod now, 2 more weeks!). But hmm... he already misses us. At the very least I got a thank you and be appreciated for my commitment. Perhaps to me, he's the best CSM la, he's like a father figure! Yeap. Cheers for our dear CSM. And speaking of ord, almost everyone in my batch got their Pink ICs! Except the ptp guys (sad to say, that includes me!) And some were blabbering about it during the anniversary dinner! Argh... soon! I'll jsut have to wait patiently. Ya.

So much to blog about over the pass week.

Thursday, 28 sept

"Night Of The Crooks"- yup that was the theme for our anniversary dinner at The Neptune. And the exact theme for my company was 'Hongkong Clan'. Golden chains, big rings, flowery shirt (yeah like wad Gregory had worn there), or wad-so-ever. So not the usual smart casual kind of thing huh.

Here with Shaun, he got this cool ear stud. Great stuff! Click to see it large.

It was quite entertaining la at least to alot of people. Yup yup. With KY up the stage (he's such a sport la), and then one of my friends got his groover on the 'dance floor' with WO John =p And Daniel Li, he was like the crooks you've seen in hongkong films. Even people from the other clan (other company) supported him. Nice!

Sunday, 01 Oct

Time for COG again! And I still saw senior batch people involved! A number of them. The lack of manpower is like forever. Sigh. Wad I could do was to give them support.

At least some of the guys were spectators yesterday like Darren, Patrick, Tingkai. And the part where Shaun had to display his double jumbo, it was scary at first but he did a nice one. Yeah great.

Next week, yup next week I'm gonna do my clearance and dekit my no. 1 attire and stores. Gotta do something before another 72 men goh comes. (Seeing the lack of manpower problem! Anything's possible =p) Ha. And the feeling of being activated is no fun.

Well a few more days, I will miss the people, the friends.
"Our paths they did cross, though I cannot say just why
We met, we laughed, we held on fast, and then we said goodbye"
...at the end of the day I wonder will it be only memories left behind?

Take care.
Irfan.

No objections.

[audio; time of our lives - il divo]

"I will put you fit for ORD, do you have any objections?" The MO really asked me this today. No joke. Ha yeap he was FINALLY around. Andrew told me I should have told him I wanna downgrade my PES before I ord, can. And then he suggested to me that being a storeman for reservist is pretty good =p Ahah. Nod nod.

So anyways, I got my ffi completed today. As usual, the waiting time was so terribly long. In the meantime I had a chat with Andrew and Boon Hui at the medical centre. Yup gotta know lots of things actually happened in camp. Like the ceremonial people going traffic and stuff. And then we got company outing this Oct. Guess I'm really lagging right now. Haha ;] And finally Greg got his understudy! Great! In fact, Tim had chosen the very eligible person to take over Greg's position. Oh we still haven't decide on our oct outing yet. See how.

I met CSM near yew tee station this afternoon - Haha leaving ever so early again. head ache, child sick leave? and the first thing he commented was "Why you've become so 'white' now? Maybe you should do some more parades before you ord." (Shaun commented exactly the same thing too in camp) Haha =p

13.9.06

Where'd you go?

[audio; breathless - kenny g]

Just as I was so worried that I might be missed out for a dental and medical ffi appointment, well well it was actually scheduled on the 12th, yesterday. I've completed almost every section of the ffi thingie; the dental, the eye test, the blood pressure taking blah blah but I have to leave out first that one important part which is to see the MO, cos... he was not around. Wad a luck, I was supposed to be on leave. Which means I have to come back again another day like today. Sigh.

But today I was really pissed cos I came back and the MO not around again. Lt Seet had actually called the medical centre earlier himself and was assured the MO will definitely be around. Heck. Wad to do. Have to come back AGAIN next week when I'm not on leave la. Safer.

MO - Where'd you go?

2.9.06

Our deep condolence.

[youtube; lagenda - hady mirza]

Once again, a deep condolence for Lt Eugene. Neways, the Anniversary Day parade was a good one yesterday. I must say his dedication to the project before the big day itself really paid off.

Went to visit him today at Hougang with Greg and Stanley. Actually my friends were quite surprised at first that I actually went to his dad's wake. Well I dunno how to put this, I just believe race or religion shouldn't play a part here ya. He's my colleague and I was sincere to go :]

Eventually we had to sit the same table with the big officers. Cos we all came around the same time. And there was this part which I remembered. CO told us visitors had actually commented something about the anniversary show, which I don't wanna mention here. Not about SPDS really, theirs was a good one. Yup in fact Ken had told me one of the visitors actually touched the chrome bayonet on his rifle and was shocked to feel it was real. That was a good laugh =p

1.9.06

Fate and destiny.

[audio; love is all around - wet wet wet]

Well guys, wad can I say. That word "saikang" (basically all sorts of chores and labour one can think of) now has been very much a common word to me. As much as I wanna say "NO" to saikang, it keeps coming to me. It's endless? Or maybe it's just hq platoon. Haha I dunno. But I fully understood wad Greg meant by "We are trash" now =p

Today was SAFPU 40th Anniversary (Well. Goodbye, SAFPU! Hello, SAF Military Police Command!). And this afternoon, I was supposed to do some ration thing with Zheng Chuan at cookhouse, then help Staff Han with the visitors' car check. But ended up being part of the rostrum party again with Chuan Feng and Greg. Ok I was alright with those. I was actually told much much earlier, ya last few weeks, that I won't be the spectator (the rest of my batch is!) and have to help 2IC with the rostrum (speakers' platform) thing.

Sigh my leave today was rejected but the rest of my batch's leaves wasn't. Wad to do. Hey I must think positive. I shouldn't have started my long string of complaints. At the very least I wasn't involved in the parade. That was good enuff. Still remember
SAF Day where I had to juggle with all the rehearsals, my own tonnes of admin work and a few Istana duties. Phew that was hell of a month yeah. How did I survive that. A question mark ;]

2IC's dad passed away today. Besides, the anniversary day event was his first big project.

Hmm well that's life I guess - You'll never know your fate and destiny.

31.8.06

Ord mood. Not yet.

[audio; chong lai - li sheng jie]

Nothing much happened these days. Life is good now I suppose. I'm clearing so many of my leaves almost everyday of the week except for Wednesdays, and so many offs which I think I couldn't even clear all of it myself. Well maybe I should do some justice to my hq mates and they'll go on free offs for me. That will be good yeah =p

It was back in camp again yesterday. As much as the unit was so busy with rehearsals for the upcoming Anniversary Day Parade, I actually have the idea of slacking in office in the morning. Haha. WTH. Why did I even think of that? I've always thought that being a "trainer" for our GOH contingent was really useless. I mean wads the point. In fact they don't need trainers. RSM's there taking charge of the overall. It was unlike the usual GOHs where we can walk around and monitor the drills etc. Besides, we got the PS to take their usual basic warm up thing. But I did go down to the parade square then, dunno whys the change of mind, and at least I got to help out Staff Raymond with the ground markings and stuff ;]

Went to Lot 1 for dinner with Joseph and Alvin. My two other campmates couldn't join us for some reasons. It would be fun la having more people cos it's been really some time since I stayed in and went out with my campmates. Neways, we managed to catch the movie "Love Wrecked" at the same place. I thought the movie was simple, yet lots of humour. Found myself laughing every so often but the story reminds me something about life. Treasure the people closest to you cos they are the ones that will always give you the support you need. Yup really :]

Today, I found myself doing all the office work again. It was like I became the ACTIVE admin spec again! In the morning, I was arrowed by CSM to type out a "lost camp pass" letter for my dear storeman. Then in the later part of the day, I was told to go to the sub-units to collect some signature thing. Wad ord mood? Not yet.

Well, gotta sleep now. Got to go back camp again tomorrow morning. Tomorrow's the anniversary day. More things are yet to come I believe - saikang! A fact that i'm not involved in the parade. Till the next post...

Orchard today.

Change of Guards today! Ok. I was the supporter and spectator again! Guess I wouldn't be doing COG no more, now that I'm left with around two, yeah two months before freedom beckons. (Well up till today, think I've done like eight COGs yup) Neways, I came with Joseph this evening.

The squad performance was great. Liked the Triple Jumbo. I thought the whole spds thing was good. Really. TWO THUMBS UP!

Went to
Subway with Tristan for a drink but before that we really had a hard time hiding away from this new Staff Sergeant. Haha *evil laughter*. And tomorrow I'm gonna be on leave again. Tuesday, full day off. A long weekend indeed!

Anyone, save me.

[audio; bad day - daniel powter]

Yesterday, we are being complained for not having at least a clerk to stay back in the office when everyone else went for their off last tuesday. CSM didn't even backed us up. That day he gave his hq people off, every single one. No one and i mean NO ONE is needed in the office. Yet he told us we were in the wrong and someone should have stayed back... in front of that FIRST SERGEANT! Wadever. Maybe I should just care less about all these stuff.

Today, I'm just not my usual self. Sad. Disappointed. Anyone I can share with? Maybe there's really no one. Sigh. I know now I'm not even a close friend to you. Maybe you could have just told me that. I LOST HOPE.

Leave no. 01.

[audio; have you ever really loved a woman - bryan adams]

Hey people it's NATIONAL DAY EVE. Waiting for my friend to call me. Meanwhile I decided to move my fingers and blog again. I started to clear my first leave today. One down, 25 more leaves to go! This morning, a senior specialist called me to ask for the clerks. Ok I didnt know they got half day off from CSM. Now the bloody issue is why must he sound super angry like someone just pissed him off. WTF. In fact it was not just today. I mean must he sound so angry whenever he called me for them. Like I ever did anything wrong to him. Stupid la. Anyhow I should have not picked up his call. I'm on leave. Fancy picking up. Who cares about those regulars? Ok this is what I've learnt in life - even though you're tired or had a bad day, you shouldn't take it out on someone else. Be nice. Everyone is just doing their job.

So much of that. Neway I just cant imagine when I clear more of my leaves and will be coming back camp like once a week only, I'll be DEAD BORED. I ought to do something meaningful ya. Or I rather be in camp. Ya it sounds totally unbelievably crazy. I'm just mad or wad. It's like everyone will be happy to not even come camp. I believe. Maybe I should just take a break from anything related to camp. Yah great idea. Got to get used to it. Yup.

Well I've got good news. My batch need not be involved in the Anniversary Parade this 1st Sept. Yay just spectators. But... we still need to take turns to be trainers for the GOH contingent whenever we're not on leave. Wadever it is. Well, got to go now. My friend just called me. That's all I suppose. Tomorrow's spds performance will be great hopefully. Enjoy the holiday!

Finally,

[audio; accidentally in love - counting crows]

I'm dreading to go back camp tomorrow but seeing the brightest side, I only have my last ever CO CONFERENCE report to finish before I start to clear my leaves next week. Traffic... if they could hand up to me their bike and elantra manhours last friday I would have finished the report and take off tomorrow. Sigh. Ok la. I should be grateful that I have gotten my understudy now.

A few of the seniors have already ord-ed. Next week there'll be more. It seems like it was yesterday we did parades together. How time flies. Now that I'm clearing my leave the following Monday onwards, I will sure miss camp. Oh more of the people actually. Think I will come back camp once a week. Yup.

Acquaintance, not?

[audio; where'd you go - fort minor]

"Will you still ask us out even after you ORD?" My camp-mate asked me. I looked at him then, BLANK, no answer. Then I thought of those close friends who go all the way back to primary school. Some friends I've met on the streets and they just pretended they didn't know me. Wadever it is at least me and my poly mates try to meet up once in a while out of our busy schedule.

So neways, coming to an end to my army stint. I hope we will still catch up on each other yeah. ORD soon and planning my leaves and offs is really a head-ache. Now that CSM said my batch might be involved in the anniversary parade. That means I've got to attend all the rehearsals. Sigh! See How.

Head ache.

Like i've mentioned on the previous post, we had a so called 'heart-to-heart' talk with 2IC last monday. After being so senior in the company, this was really just our first meeting. Others, they got like 2 to 3 talks already with their PC. It's disappointing like everyone totally forgot about us until only recently.

Maybe we are really 'trash'. Gregory always said that. In fact we all said that now. Ya it can't be help la. We're leaving the company in lesser than 3 months time but nobody's taking over our places. I have 26 DAYS OF LEAVE, and so many offs not cleared. Gonna clear all next or the following week. Who will be doing all the reports for our DEAREST OC, who's gonna settle all my never ending admin stuffs?? "HEAD... ACHE x 100!"

Well thank god, 2IC understood our situation and I got my understudy now. Finally handing over - IPPT, range, conferences, manpower etc. Mount parades, istana duties! Thinking back I would have actually gone crazy. Haha fortunately I got my camp mates around me. Thanx :]

Note: (My understudy) But no worries la. Everything will be fine after you get used to it. Really just do the best in wadever you can yup.

*I'm relieved. Thanks.
