One word, and then some.
This isn't my story but I've just got to blog about it as soon as I've heard it from my brother.
This incident happened yesterday after midnight. My bro and his friends were about to walk away from a void deck at one of the residential areas, somewhere in the eastern side, when two police officers approached them from afar and began to ask them some craps.
*Take note. The below conversation is originally in Malay. I translated the exact words used into English. So to all my Malay friends out there, can try picturing this like they were really conversing in Malay.
Policeman #1 (sergeant): Why must you all run away from us?
Policeman #2 (nsf recruit): Why...... afraid? *in this super bragging tone
My brother: Why must we run away from you two, grown-ups like us. And furthermore, there's nothing to hide. We've done nothing wrong *in a calm yet firm tone
(Remember they were just about to leave when the policemen came).
Policeman #2 (nsf recruit): And why make SO MUCH noise at this hour? (he exaggerated since they weren't even making that so much noise in the first place.)
Lazy to entertain, my bro and his friends didnt reply at all.
Policeman #2 (nsf recruit): Where do you all put your brains at? In your as**ole? *in even a more stucked up tone
My bro replied back upon hearing the unacceptable word used by a policeman. The real argument started from there...
My brother: So police officers are becoming so advanced right now. They can use vulgarities and be rude to public anyohow (insinuating them).
Being defensive towards that recruit policeman, the sergeant answered...
Policeman #1 (sergeant): Poor thing, so you consider that kind of a word a vulgarity?
My brother: Even though it's not exactly a vulgarity but its still rude. And you policemen definitely have no respect towards us all.
Conversation stopped for a while. The policemen didn't replied back, maybe they knew they were wrong. And they continued to body-and-bag-check my bro and his friends.
While checking...
Policeman #2 (nsf recruit): Show me the PSP you brought. Take out your memory card.
At this point of time, my bro knew that the recruit policeman wasn't satisfied and purposely wanted to find some other faults.
My brother: May I know what you wanna do with my memory card?
Policeman #2 (nsf recruit): What's inside that memory card? You must have downloaded songs and games illegally. Don't you know that act is wrong? I may just catch you for that (again in that stucked-up tone).
My brother: Alright, you can do that. But why don't you hand me your handphone and I shall look into your memory card too. I'm very sure you've also downloaded illegal stuffs. How about your mp3 songs? Wanna deny that?
Of course, my bro was really satisfied with his answer. Both policemen didn't even utter a word right after that. They just walked away as soon as they completed their checks.
That was so lame, isn't it? Tell me how can I respect an NSF policemen after hearing such an incident. The sergeant was ok. With that, I have no further comments. Thank you.
